A Chinese amber 'magnolia' brushwasher, Qing dynasty, finely carved as a magnolia flower, buds and leaves, the amber variegated semi-translucent and opaque in areas, internal age crizzling, height 6.5cm

Provenance: by family repute formerly in the Arthur Flynn collection, purchased from Bluett's before 1980.


The amber is semi-translucent with some cloudy white inclusions, there is a shallow splinter chip to one of the petals of the magnolia flower, a few other small abrasions here and there otherwise in reasonable condition.
