A fine Japanese Satsuma pottery basket moulded bowl, by Kinkozan, Meiji period, the exterior painted with panels of millefleur and bamboo shaped basketwork ribs in gilt and gilt decorated black enamels, the interior with white flowers surrounded by gilt dots and a border of millefleur in polychrome, impressed four character mark to base Diam.21cm

The bowl has some minor occasional wear to the gilding on the bamboo ribs. There is some occasional grubbiness to the black enamel and gilt decorated panels between the raised bamboo ribs and some light occasional staining to the glaze in places otherwise in good condition with no restoration chips or cracks.
