Oil on original unlined canvas, canvas is slightly saggy, aside from the obvious inverse t shaped tear through the work there has in the past been a diagonal tear running from near the top left corner down towards her face and a patched hole towards the lower right corner, viewing our images of the back of the canvas clearly shows where these have been patched. Otherwise slight stretcher marks showing around the edge of the work, paint is very dirty and would benefit from a clean but overall should restore to good effect, housed in a period gilt gesso frame which is separating at the corners and looking rather dull but otherwise in fair order, old label verso inscribed with details of the sitter corresponding to the inscription on the back of the canvas.
