Estimate £800-1,200

Most notably the head has been broken away from the main body, through the neck directly beneath the chin with the crack running down slightly lower to the back of the veil, otherwise there are a number of old chips and small damages throughout, most notably all around the rim of the crown, in the trails of the veil, in other swags elsewhere, the top of the Christ child is missing and there is further damage to whatever was in the Virgin's right hand, no sign of any attempts at restoration other than re-sticking the head to the body which has now come apart again, please see our additional photographs on the Gorringes website for further details
