° Jasper John (1930-) Illustrator - Stevens, Wallace (1879-1955) - Poems, with introduction by Helen Vendler, number 30 of 300 illustrated with an original etching with aquatint frontispiece, signed in pencil by Jasper Johns, the etching was printed by ULAE and titled ‘’Summer’’. This print predates the paintings and prints in his series ‘’The Seasons’’ by almost two years. This is therefore the first appearance of any of the four renowned works from this series. Condition:
Spine and board extremities with very minor scuffing, plate and text clean throughout. Complete and very good condition., including half title, limitation and imprint (at end) leaves; frontis. with tissue-guard; the half binding is spine (as usual) and the 2 vertical baord edges. The spine is white-lettered with publisher's device at foot - at this latter is a very slight mark and flaw.
