Oil on original canvas which remains tight but is rather dirty with scattered mould spores, title of sitter is clearly inscribed top right, signature of the artist is bottom right although somewhat indistinct, housed in a highly ornate gilt scroll frame which suffers some cracks and small losses, this in turn is within a larger glazed ebonised casement frame which is black painted and now looking a little tatty.
