Lot 10 , Wilson of London. An early 18th century flintlock pocket pistol, 11cm high 19cm long
Wilson of London. An early 18th century flintlock pocket pistol, with screw-off barrel and brass mounted stock, 11cm high 19cm long
£500-600
Condition:
The barrel still unscrews. The trigger guard is raised slightly at the front and it looks as though there may be a tiny solder repair underneath but it does not move. The pistol does half cock but the demarcation between hall cock and fully cocked is smaller than normal. Overall looks to be in very good clean condition, old oxidisation marks to the steel work, barrel signed LONDON along with various proof marks and the initials RW beneath a star, side of lock signed Wilson, brass work engraved with a stylised mask to the underside of the butt, lock cocks to a single position and is working.
