the 30cm arched brass dial with central automaton inscribed 'The Royal George' over a silvered chapter ring, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, movement with anchor escapement, the case decorated with gilt motifs and a chinoiserie style panels to the trunk door and box base,

Condition:
Overall in honest original untouched condition, paint is faded to a dull green tone, gilding equally now rather faded and rubbed, particularly so on the sides, hood with rubbing and old dents around the edges, extensive wear to both the tops and bottoms of both columns, escutcheon for the hood door is upside down and lacks a key but does retain the original lock, dial in good order, movement looks original as does the base plate, no inscriptions to the backplate, trunk door with a later lock and key, comes with a brass covered pendulum and two brass cased weights, additional finial and two associated winding keys, rubbing around the box base, plinth foot looks later.
