Condition:
Sir W.J. Hicks – oil on original canvas in honest untouched condition, canvas remains tight, would benefit from a clean, no sign of any signature, housed in an beaded moulded gilt gesso frame which is in good order, printed fabric label giving title and date October … along with the number 253, further furniture depository label for Brentford from the 1940’s. She relined 20-30 years ago or so, canvas remains tight, paint a little dirty with a fine but stable craquelure running predominantly through the green and black areas, both signatures lower left, housed in the original gilt gesso frame which is now rather tatty, Brentord Depository label verso but no other labels.
