Two unusual 19th- 20th century French crewel worked panels. Embroidered predominantly in shades of blue, pink, yellow and orange, onto a light grey cloth, using neoclassical and rococo design elements. Possibly part of a larger screen. 178cm x 49.5cm. Condition - both panels have been finely darned in places where the backing has become worn. One of the panels has been made from four pieces and carefully joined to match the other panel.
