Estimate £1,500-2,000

Provenance: UK private collection; purchased from specialist dealers and auctions in the 1950s and 1960s.

The first vase with a thin band of green at the base of the neck has wear to the gilding around the neck and to a lesser degree on the body, there is a blister to the glaze on the second knop down on the neck and there are some overglazed firing cracks on the third knop at the base of the neck, the foot has some red residue to it where it had some felt or something similar attached to it and there is a slight firing crack to the recess of the foot made in manufacture.
Second vase with wider green band towards the base of the neck has some wear to the gilding especially to the neck and to a lesser degree around the body and the glaze has gone a caramel colour on the inside of the neck and the inside of the foot, and on the reserves. There is also some fritting in particular to the green enamels on the reserves, it is possible that the foot has been ground off slightly where there was some kiln grit.
