Two pairs of George III silver Adam style candlesticks, with tapering stems and engraved initials, John Cox, London, 1776 and indistinct maker's mark, London, 1775, all four lacking sconces, 11.75in, weighted.

1776 pair- 1st stick- Dent to the side of the top just abobe one of the swags. Small old repair to the circular base at the top of the squared stem. There are a few tiny nicks and dings around the base. Engraved initial around the base rim close to th ehallmarks. Maker's mark very rubbed.
2nd stick- A couple of small knocks to the top rim. A few minor nicks and dings around the base and one small ding to the base rim. Initials to side of base. No maker's mark. Other halmarks clear.
1775 pair- 1st stick- Generally clean with only a couple of minor dings to the base and the top. Initials to side of base. Hallmarks clear although some rubbing to the maker's mark.
2nd stick- Genearally in good condition with again a few very minor nicks to the base area. Same initial to side of base. Hallmarks clear although maker's mark in barely visible.
Generall condition of decoration is overall good, but some slight wear beginning to show on some of the more raised areas. All four are lacking their sconces.
