Two graduated Japanese Satsuma pottery bowls, by Kinkozan, Meiji period, each painted with figures inspecting scrolls with a landscape behind them, the reverse with birds amid flowers, on a gilt foliate decorated cobalt blue ground, each signed to the base in gilt, Diam.9cm and 6.5cm

Both small bowls have some slight wear to the gilding around the rim and in other areas. There's some brown staining to the crazing on the interior of the bowls which does not appear to go through to the outside. The larger bowl has a four character mark and the smaller bowl a three character mark which is slightly worn, otherwise in good condition with no restoration chips or cracks detected.
