Condition:
Portrait in square mahogany frame - wax split upward from bust-line, reaching top of collar; further crack at his nose. Frame with re-attached note detailing “George Pilcher - who gave this, his likeness, to his sister Dorothy, April 1854”. Coloured wax jagged cracks at throat area; fortified verso with black tape. Bearded miniature and frame varnished causing bearded gent to be over-reflective; diagonal crack running across his chest, partially concealed by varnish.
