Lot 177 , Two Meissen figures of Cupid, circa 1900, 20 cm and 21cm
Two Meissen figures of Cupid, circa 1900, the first of Cupid holding a basket, the second holding a mask, both on circular faux marble bases, underglaze blue cross swords marks and incised model numbers L118 and L110, 20 cm and 21cm
Estimate £300-500
The figure of Cupid holding a mask has a small splinter chip loss to the tip of his right wing and a few glaze flakes to the gilding on the bottom edge at the 11 o'clock position when viewed front on, the second figure of Cupid holding a basket, the basket has been broken at the bottom of the handle next to his tummy with a splinter slither of his belly beneath it, this has probably been expertly re-attached as the repair is not obvious and there is a loss to the bow string at one end, there is a firing crack across his left ankle which is slightly discoloured on one side, otherwise in good condition.
