Two Meissen chinoiserie figural groups, circa 1750, modelled by J.J.Kandler and others, the first of a lady with an exotic bird perched on her right hand with the figures of two children holding pomegranates and other fruit, the second of a lady taking tea, the figures of two boys beside her, one holding a tray with tea bowl and saucer, the other a basket of fruit (lacking tea kettle to her right hand), both with underglaze blue crossed swords marks, height 16cm, restorations

These two groups belong to a series attributed to Kandler and his assistants Reinicker and Meyer using prints by Jean-Joseph Balechou after Les Delices de l'Enfance by Francois Boucher. Compare a similar group sold by Christie's New York, 3-4th March 2009, Lot 390.

The group of a lady holding an exotic bird has a few minor restorations to the applied flowers, the figure of the boy kneeling has lost one index finger, the urn standing behind him is a complete repainted replacement. The boy standing has restoration to the pomegranate in his right hand.
Group of lady taking tea, again has some minor restorations to the applied flowers and is completely lacking the tea kettle to her right hand with a remnant of the handle remaining, also restoration to one pleat in the skirt at the back.
