Two French majolica animal shaped jugs, late 19th century, the first by Sarreguemines modelled as ram's head, impressed mark and model no.4022, 16.5cm, the second a seated bear with ladle-shaped handle, 26.5cm

The jug in the form of a bear has chip losses to his two bottom teeth in his jaw, a shallow chip to the end of the bowl of the spoon at the top of the handle, there is an overglaze firing crack to one side of the base of the handle, there is a piece of exposed biscuit at the top of the handle where something has stuck to it in the kiln, otherwise good condition.

The Sarreguemines ram shaped jug has some restoration to the rim of the spout of the jug, heavy crazing to the glaze all over and a number of fine cracks to the rim, the top handle, otherwise good condition.
