Two Chinese embroidered silk robes, 19th century, the first woven with peony medallions above celestial waves on an eau de nil ground, the sleeves woven with flowers, bats and fruits on midnight blue bands, adapted with later zips and frontal panel, the second woven in Peking knot and long threads with butterflies and flowers on a midnight blue ground

Eau de nil ground medallion robe has a number of alterations with a zip added at the front, a section in the centre which has been taken from another part of the gown, seams running across the centre where panels have been re-stitched, there is general light staining to the ground and re-stitching to the arms, some occasional splits, the lining is a little worn in places to.
Second robe with midnight blue ground has a number of unpicked threads particularly to the Peking knot and general tears and wears to the silk around the collar and to the sleeves.
