As well as being an avid collector of early Derby porcelain, Dr. Dennis G. Rice was an academic and wrote one of the key reference works on the subject - 'Derby Porcelain, The Golden Years 1750-1770' published in 1983. A number of the pieces illustrated in the book will be offered for sale.

Tallest - cracks and old reapirs to the sconce. Chipping, rivets and old restoration to the wax pan. Sconce and wax pan possibly re-stuck to the stem. Some petal chips. Main stem and base fine.
Green base - cracks to the sconce. Chipping and old restoration to the wax pan. Leaf and petal chips throughout. Main stem and base fine.
Puce base - extensive old restoration to the sconce. Cracks to the wax pan. Leaf and petal chips throughout. Main stem and base fine.
