Thomas Garner of London, a George III mahogany eight day longcase clock, the arched brass dial with silvered strike / silent, Roman chapter ring, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, five pillar movement with anchor escapement, arched hood with fluted columns, the base with a double step to the foot, 50cm wide, 234cm high. Condition:
Looks to be in honest condition, untouched for many years, mahogany remains a dark reddish brown tone, a little lighter on the trunk door, finials look original and are oxidised, hood has lost the lock to the front door, columns are slightly loose, dial looks original if oxidised, movement looks complete but not tested for timekeeping, lock to the trunk door looks to be a later replacement, comes with brass faced pendulum and two lead weights along with key to trunk door, some rubbing around the raised mouldings of the case particularly with scuffing around the foot.
