The Barber of Seville, composed by Rossini, first performed 1816. The Plot: Rosina has been locked up by her guardian Dr Bartolo to make her marry him.
However Count Almaviva has hired the resourceful town barber Figaro to help him rescue and marry her himself. Disguised as soldier and then singing master, he succeeds.
