Six unusual Chinese famille rose 'rice-grain' bordered plates, Guangxu period (1875-1908), four painted with sages in a bamboo grove, and two with a fisherman by a river, 22.5cm

The sages amid bamboo plates show the influence of the Qianjiang School of painting in the use of more subdued enamel colours and black ink like foliage.

All the plates are in good condition with some kiln grit around the foot.
