Condition:
Both laid onto paper backing, both warped out of shape. Mrs Cardwell (dark dress, ship in the lower corner) curved but otherwise good condition, signed top right, inner ormolu mount slightly oxidised, outer frame with rubbing to the leather covering and fading to the velvet backing. Mrs Rainy (Rainey?) white bridal dress, curved with a small section lost at the top right, not signed but inscribed verso and dated 1840, similar wear to framing.
