Condition:
Pencil on paper relatively recently remounted and now showing acid staining throughout the paper along with a few dirt spots, under glass in a modern frame, label verso giving details of the works. In the years between 1951 and 1955 Spencer was commissioned (by the vendor's grandfather Osmund Franks) to produce various works including portraits of Andrew's grandparents Dr and Mrs Osmund Franks. A painting of Andrew, interiors of Chauntry Court and The Thames from Chauntry Court, these drawings were last showing at the 30th Anniversary Exhibition of Children at the Stanley Spencer Gallery, Cookham.
