A Mouseman oak refectory table and four matching dining chairs, with adzed top on octagonal baluster end standards and trestle foot, carved to one baluster with a climbing mouse, the chairs with brown leather upholstery, octagonal baluster legs and all round stretchers, each carved with a mouse to the front leg, chairs width 44cm depth 47cm height 87cm

Condition:
Each baluster end standard with natural vertical splits, not serious; one trestle foot scratched, approx. 6cm; top with two old dark stains and two light cracks inward from one end, not serious. Generally good with good colour and finish. Top 6’ (183cm) x 2’11” (89cm). Chairs one leather back small tear to underside; two canvas linings to undersides of seats torn; carved mice detail without damage. Rich toffee brown colour and glossy finish to the top. Top has been re-polished. 6in. cracks running in from each end (two at one end, one at the other). Underframe a more natural colour - faded and rubbed across the stretcher and feet. Chairs - look to have an original mid brown tone. Leather looks original. Backs all with some wear and cracking. Seats sagging with a near 'crocodile' effect. Wear and rubbing around the top. Thought to be Robert Thompson himself and pre-war.
