watercolour
Two seated women (study for 'Music by the Water', 1900),
signed
13.25 x 9.5in.
Estimate £200-300

Watercolour on paper that is almost certainly faded to to some extent but still retains fair differentiation of colour, one or two small scattered dirt specks but otherwise looks good, signed lower right, housed under glass in an ornate gilt frame with a few minor rubbing damages, yellow chalk verso from a Sotheby's sale, inscriptions verso giving details relating to a study of The Garden of Sweet Sound but closer investigation has pointed this being more likely to be a study for 'Music by the Water'.
