Querubim Lapa de Almeida, to give him his full name, was born in Portimão in 1925. Trained in sculpture and painting, diversity would come to be the hallmark of his work, with his ceramic creations standing out for their artistic and technically innovative solutions, in addition to his enduring interest in design, painting, tapestry and printmaking.

Condition:
There is a firing crack to each corner of the underside edge. as viewed from underneath there are some associated hairline cracks emanating towards the centre which are visible on the sides but not really from above. Fine crazing to the glaze otherwise in reasonable condition.
