Paul Garnier of Paris. A mid 19th century French inlaid rosewood travelling carriage timepiece, with original outer case, the main case with brass loop handle and brass and mother of pearl marquetry inlay, blue enamelled Roman dial signed Paul Garnier Hrr Mcien de la Marine à Paris, eight day movement with circular backplate striking on a bell, signed and numbered 3340, height of case 14.5cm, width 11cm depth 9.5cm

Condition:
Outer case of good even red mahogany tone, one vertical split to the back, green baize lining looks original, main case a rather dark and slightly dull finish particularly to the top, gilding worn away from the top handle, brass stringing missing from the back of the top and starting to pull away from the top back left side, slight separation of the joints at the front, bevelled glass is chipped in the top left corner, dial in good clean condition, hands a little oxidised, movement a little dirty, probably old repair to the striker, comes with an associated winding key, movement runs briefly then stops.
