A pair of Chinese horseshoe back armchairs, each splat carved with figures and bat motifs, each with a traditional carved and pierced frieze, on tapering legs united by stretcher

We are unsure of the exact wood but they are Southern Chinese, probably a mixture of elm and a walnut or satinwood type timber.
