An autograph letter, dated 17th October 1956 from Isington Mill, Alton, Hampshire, "Dear Harrington, I agree with your suggestions about arrangements with Collins [the publishers] should I fail to deliver the book." (Montgomery was writing his memoirs, published by Collins in 1958) continues "Everybody seems to think I may die shortly. I have no intention of any such action!", signed Montgomery of Alamein, framed with a photograph of the writer in full regalia
