Oil on canvas that has now torn away from most of the stretcher just clinging on on one wide, canvas undulating with a short tear near 12 o'clock, another short 1 inch tear in her dress, inscription may well be the name of the sitter rather than the artist in the lower left corner, Christie's number BP591 verso, loose but with its original silvered gesso frame which has numerous cracks and damage to the corners.
