Portrait of Mary Reynolds (1802-1843), Mary Anne was the 14th of 20 children born to Sir Edward Knatchbull, 8th Baronet, her mother was Mary Hawkins, Sir Edward's 3rd wife, 15.25 x 11cm., in ornate ormolu frame and housed within a glazed mahogany case with Bramah lock

On back of artist board inscribed Mary Anne wife of H.R. Reynolds Esq. M.A. Barrister at Law, Solicitor to Her Majesty's Treasury 1843-1865 and Daughter of Sir Edward Knatchbull, Baronet of Mersham Hatch, Herts, born January 14th 1802, married March 6th 1822, died July 14th 1843, painted by Maria Chalon 1835.

Ivory slightly curling up on the right hand side, one or two scattered dirt spots but otherwise colours good and bright, appears not to be signed, inner slip of frame slightly matted with some discolouration at the edges, outer ormolu scroll frame with matted gilt finish, cracks showing above and below 3 and 9 o'clock, plain mahogany case with original Bramah lock and key, case overall 31 x 26.5cm
