Lot 444 , A George II mahogany wing armchair, W.2ft 3in. D.2ft 6in. H.3ft 11in.
A George II mahogany wing armchair, with yellow fabric upholstery and cabriole legs, with turned H stretcher and pad feet, W.2ft 3in. D.2ft 6in. H.3ft 11in.
Estimate £800-1,200
Front legs to the chair are probably walnut rather than mahogany, numerous small dents, scuffs and scratches commensurate with use, and now a light tan colour, H stretcher matching in material and condition, was once stained a darker colour, back legs are oak with one flat head screw showing on the inside of the back right leg, back stretcher looks to be a later replacement in mahogany or walnut, upholstery now rather tired, front legs look like they may have had castors attached at one time.
