Estimate £1,500-2,000

Case looks to have had its ebonised finish redone at some point but is now a little worn notably at the raised extremites but also with other small scattered dents and knocks, tip of the front right corner of the panel is broken away and missing, some splitting in veneer around the edges of the top, fretwork to the top of the front door is missing on the left side, a fine scratch or crack runs down from the bottom of the fret work panel to near the escutcheon and there is damage to the finish here where perhaps at some point the door was held shut with cellotape, a little wear to the moulding around the glass just below the left hand fret work panel, dial looks to be in good order with only slight oxidastion marks to the chapter ring, right hand side has a few dents and knocks, two fine splits to the left side of the glass and a hole where presumably the repeat cord ran at one point, left hand side with some damage to the ebonising around the glass, back door loose and wobbly with the lower hinge coming away from the main case, a section of moulding is loose from the top of the door but is held seperately, fretwork panels may well be later replacement with some of the veneer missing from the left side of the arch, glass loose in door and held in place with cellotape. Unsigned movement looks complete and to have been overhauled relatively recently, bell looks rather large and sits rather low down suggesting it may well be a later replacement, comes with an old possibly original winding key, front and back doors what look to be original locks but no key. Old label for Kent Clock Services saying restored in 1979.
