Joseph Windmills of London (1671-1702). A late 17th / early 18th century walnut and marquetry eight day longcase clock, the 11 inch square brass dial with subsidiary seconds and date aperture, signed on the chapter ring, altered five pillar movement with anchor escapement, pendulum and two lead weights, 6ft 7in.

Case overall has seen a fair amount of restoration probably 20 years ago or so, top of the hood looks completely reconstructed, spiral twist pilasters have been overpainted with rather thick matt gold paint, left side of hood has at least one replaced patch of veneer as does the right, some splitting to the trunk door, notably top right corner a 3 inch horizontal split, glass lenticle, the prunt is slightly left of centre, brass bezel looks later, box base also looks reconstructed, overall this may well be an associated case that has seen extensive embellishment and restoration, dial has been cleaned at some time, chapter ring showing some oxidisation and speckling, minute hand looks to be a later replacement, movement in fair clean condition, looks to have been overhauled with in the past 10 - 20 years or so.
