Oil on canvas cleaned and relined within the past 20 years or so, canvas remains tight, clearly an extensive amount of retouching has been done to repair craquelure and other damage, this still shows particularly over the cliffs and also looks a little rubbed and thin above the main ship, later gilt frame.
