In the Manner of William Vile. A George III mahogany secretaire chest, W.2ft 6in.

In the Manner of William Vile. A George III mahogany secretaire chest, the superstructure of Chinese taste lattice fretwork above a single secretaire drawer, modelled as two drawers, opening to reveal a fitted interior above two short and three long drawers, on ogee bracket feet, W.2ft 6in.
Estimate £800-1,200

Very minor crack to the raised fret work superstructure just by the ivory vase finials, a few other very minor areas of repairs to the pierced fret work in places but nothing particularly noticeable, a few general scuffs and marks as you would expect particularly around the feet and around the drawers although the piece has been repolished at some time in the past which has meant a loss of the original colour, minor repair around the front right hand bracket foot, again not that noticeable, slight movement on the hinges of the secretaire drawer which has resulted in it not quite locking flush, overall reasonable condition.
33.5 inches wide from across the feet at the widest point
60.5 inches high
height to top of chest is 41.5 inches
16 inches deep
