Charcoal on buff coloured paper which retains an even tone and shows some undulation so thought not to be laid down.
A few fox marks notably one on the thigh.
The trace of an inscription bottom left and studio stamp bottom right.
October 1921 Leicester Galleries label verso, 'No.8, study off a bather' - Purchaser 'Lord Duveen'.
Paris stamps (look like dealer and customs) to the back along with an inscription saying 'given to ... by Lord Duveen.. 1936'
Old washline mount and gilt frame.
