Pencil, charcoal and coloured chalk on paper in honest untouched condition, paper has an even buffish tone which may be slightly discoloured, some signs of white overpainting running down both sides, this is the same white as is used for the glass of the hanging lantern and elsewhere so presumably used by the artist to conceal where lines have gone beyond the drawn border, signed and dated lower right, looks very flat so thought to be laid down, housed in a fairly recent card mount and gilt frame, old inscription has been retained verso,
