Monochrome watercolour on off white paper, paper showing a hint of undulation so appears not to be laid down, probably slightly faded but still retaining good strength of tone, a few tiny scattered dirt marks but most of these are on the glass rather than the work itself, signature and date are beneath the mount which is a fairly recent washline example with a modern gilt frame, labels verso giving details of the work and artist, ex Sotheby's sale 26.9.01 lot 132, label for Michael Appleby of St James in addition.
