Lot 686 , George III mahogany three tier dumb waiter(-)

George III mahogany three tier dumb waiter(-)

A George III mahogany three tier dumb waiter, with carved tripod base, W.2ft 2in.
Estimate £70-90

Overall slightly neglected condition, this is very dark heavy mahogany, the tiers are slightly warped most notably the top tier, there is some nicking around the edge carving, stem from top to second tier showing some splitting in the bottom part of the turning, second tier a few ring marks but otherwise good, stem from second tier to base tier with some old vertical cracking, base tier with a split running approx. 7 inches to each side of the stem with a further 6 inch split along side, a few discolouration marks and some small dents and nicks, tripod probably later carved as the foliate carving is fairly shallow, sitting on original castors. Overall should restore to very good effect.

H.3ft 8in.
