Condition:
Portrait image is somewhat feint, on cream-discoloured paper with dirt spots and light creases, images 10 and 11; bottom rail of original oak frame lighter in colour than the rest. See image of GF Watts’s trade card attached verso. Signed and dated inscription appears to have the word Brighton in the middle. Provenance: offered for sale by the Shoolbred family, descendants of Jas. Shoolbred & Co., well-known furniture designers and makers based at their Tottenham Court Road department store.
