A rare collection of unused handmade bobbin and needle laces from the late 19th century, to include; four large mixed Brussels collars with Pointe de Gaz insertions and a similar hankie. A Honiton guipure bobbin lace collar and another simpler collar, two Irish Youghal needle lace collars, a large silk Maltese Bertha, a cream and blue silk drawn thread lace edged hankie and a Robinson and Cleaver Ltd booklet on Irish hand-made lace. Bertha 172cm wide at base (12). Condition; Many items still have original labels. A few have discoloured with age and may need stain removal treatment, possible repairs.
