Condition:
Oil on canvas looks to have been relined many years ago, canvas remains tight, paint looks rather dirty and would benefit from a clean, stretcher marks showing around the edges along with some fine but stable craquelure through the paint, one small scratch running just below his lace collar down towards the star, further finer hairline scratches just below this. Old possibly even original ebonised frame with light scuffing, label verso for Kunst & Antiquitaten from an auction sale in December 2022.
