pair of oils on canvas
Extensive landscape with shepherd and flock, harvesters and haycart crossing a river
signed
17.5 x 31.75in.
Estimate £300-500

Both oils on original canvas which is slightly undulating and showing stretcher marks, paint rather dirty with a fine but stable craquelure showing throughout, image with shepherd in the foreground has a pin hole and bulge towards the left corner which looks like something is trapped between the canvas and stretcher and a more prounounced stretcher mark on the right side where the canvas is slightly pushed in and some flaking has occured, the other work with haycart has been relined approximately 10 years ago or so, canvas is tight, paint might still benefit from a clean but otherwise looks good, both housed in original ornate gilt gesso frames suffering from small losses, no labels or inscriptions verso.
