First published in 1925, The Secret of Chimneys was Christie’s fifth novel and introduced Superintendent Battle. This Popular Edition was published in 1927, two years after the first edition.

Condition:
Publisher’s pale cloth with some discolouration and marking, with light wear and bumping to the extremities. Browning to endpapers and preliminaries, with ink and pencil inscriptions to the front free endpaper and further pencil inscription to the rear pastedown. Contents generally clean, with intermittent spotting and foxing, predominantly to the edges. Later reprint dust jacket with toning and marking, rubbing and creasing, and wear with minor tears and losses to the edges and extremities; 2/6 price to spine intact.
