China & Manchuria.- A collection of approx. 320 postcards, c. 1900-1940. subjects covered include Chinese Republic flags, Boxer Rebellion military scenes, Harbin and Mukden topographical street views, Shanghai street life, Chinese funeral processions, occupational studies, traders, beggars, schools, pagodas and many further examples of social history. The cards comprise a mixture of real photographic, hand-coloured and printed lithographic examples from many publishers (British, French etc.), some are also with hand written inscriptions.
