Oil on canvas relined many years ago, canvas remains tight, paint is dirty with some discolouration in the varnish and some cracking occuring in the sky, above the domed spire and to the left and right of it, a further light craquelure running in the central blue of the sky, clouds in the main look to be overpainted as does the top left blue sky, buildings and details in the foreground look to be original paint, main tree on the right also looks to be overpainted particularly the upper section, no sign of any signature, housed in a 19th century gilt gesso frame which is rather tatty, framers label verso for H. Austin of St Stephens Lane, Ipswich.
