Oil on an oak panel in honest untouched condition, paint very dirty with fine but stable craquelure throughout, apparently unsigned, housed in the original gilt gesso frame which has some splits and small losses, a panel of reinforcement attached to the back but no sign of any cracking or damage having come through the front.
