Watercolour on white paper which looks rather flat and is not stuck down on to the buff paper backing just around the margins, colours no doubt a little faded but still retaining some strength, no sign of any dirt marks, foxing or other damage, inscribed lower right corner Sept 1, housed in an old discoloured card mount and slim glazed frame, labels verso for Thomas Agnew & Sons Ltd no.27930 with an inscribed date 1967, additional Agnew label DB3901, and a further typed label stating that the National Gallery who purchased the Agnew Archives have confirmed that the drawing, stock number and label are correct and that this is recorded as a watercolour by John Constable Village Street Scene, also an old extract of an auction catalogue description listed at Lot No. 15.
